Terms of Use

Last updated: April 17, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using AlpacaTrader ("the Platform", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. We may update these Terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Nature of the Platform

AlpacaTrader is a trading interface that connects to your brokerage account held at Alpaca Securities LLC, a registered broker-dealer and member of FINRA/SIPC. AlpacaTrader is not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, financial planner, or fiduciary.

All trades are executed through your Alpaca brokerage account. AlpacaTrader does not hold, custody, or have any claim over your funds or securities.

Nothing on this Platform constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. All trading decisions are made solely by you.

3. Eligibility

You must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be legally permitted to trade securities in your jurisdiction
  • Have a valid Alpaca brokerage account
  • Provide accurate information when registering

4. Trading Risks

Trading stocks, options, and other securities involves substantial risk of loss. You may lose some or all of the capital you invest. Past performance of any trader or strategy displayed on this Platform is not indicative of future results.

You acknowledge that you understand and accept these risks before using any trading or copy-trading features.

5. Copy Trading

The copy-trading feature allows you to mirror trades placed by other users ("traders"). By enabling copy trading you acknowledge:

  • Traders on this Platform are not licensed financial advisers
  • Copied trades may be executed at different prices than the original trader received
  • No guarantee is made that copied trades will be profitable
  • Fees charged by traders (if any) are set by those traders and are not refundable
  • You remain solely responsible for all trading activity in your account

6. API Credentials

You may connect your Alpaca account by providing API credentials or through OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of these credentials. AlpacaTrader stores credentials encrypted and never shares them with third parties.

You authorise AlpacaTrader to place orders, retrieve account data, and subscribe to market data feeds on your behalf using the credentials or access token you provide.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or market manipulation
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or exploit the Platform
  • Share your account credentials with third parties
  • Misrepresent your identity, trading history, or performance metrics
  • Use automated bots to abuse API rate limits or community features

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that real-time data is accurate, complete, or free from delays. Market data is provided by third-party feeds and may be subject to delay or error.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AlpacaTrader and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to trading losses, lost profits, or data loss, arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform.

10. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Termination does not affect any open positions or orders in your Alpaca brokerage account, which remain your responsibility.

11. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and software comprising the Platform are owned by or licensed to AlpacaTrader. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the Platform without prior written consent.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the applicable jurisdiction without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration or in a court of competent jurisdiction.

13. Contact
